Content creation

I create engaging content for my clients, commissioning the best travel and lifestyle writers, as well as writing lively and accurate text myself.

With almost 40 years’ experience as a journalist, writing and producing publications, I can deliver top-quality online and print content from initial concept to final proof. I can be engaged on both a regular and project basis.

My recent work includes devising, researching, writing and voicing a self-guided audio trail of Chester’s historic architecture, Discover The Rows. I have just commissioned and edited Congham’s Golf Coast, the latest in a suite of visitor trails that I have devised for my client Congham Hall Hotel in Norfolk. Recent guest articles I have written on behalf of clients for the press, include a feature on Jodrell Bank for Cheshire Living magazine.

PR knowledge

I spent more than 10 years as a PR consultant for tourism companies and organisations, so I have a thorough understanding of how to create content that can be used in your PR campaigns and wider marketing activity.

I specialised in PR for tourism authorities but also individual businesses, working closely with my clients to understand their priorities and identify the most powerful stories for PR activity. I dovetailed my work with their other marketing channels, delivering eye-catching messages and materials, and building strong relationships with target media. The result was impactful campaigns that attract the attention of the local, regional and international press.

Most recently, I worked with Marketing Cheshire, Destination Chester, Discover Newmarket, the National Horse Racing Museum, Visit Warwickshire and Congham Hall Hotel. But I have also worked with a wide variety of great travel companies, from the tour operator Simply Sweden, a specialist in adventurous Scandinavian holidays, to innovative start-up Loco2.com, a revolutionary train booking website that was snapped up by VoyagesSNCF.com and is now RailEurope.com. I’ve also provided PR services for the walking holiday company Foot Trails, Family Adventure Holidays, a company that does what it says on the tin, and the coach tour operators Just Go! Holidays and Omega Breaks. My accommodation clients have included the villa-booking website To Tuscany, luxury ski chalet holiday company Meriski in the French Alps, Almohalla 51 in Andalucia, Inspira Santa Marta Hotel in Lisbon, Kivo Hotel in Skiathos, and the gay-friendly accommodation collection Further Afield.
